I loved reading to my three children when they were little. Their excitement to hear their favorite characters come to life and be enveloped in the story had even me looking forward to storytime. While listening to an audiobook on one in particular car trip one of my children asked, “Mom, why don’t you do that? You could tell the stories, you’re good at it.”

Which got me asking myself why don’t I do that?

Voice acting has been an intrinsic part of almost all my hobbies whether it’s watching anime or cartoons with my kids, playing video games, or listening to audiobooks. I hadn’t really given that much thought though as a career path.

Having performed in theater in school I definitely have a flair for theatrics, and I enjoy reading aloud to people and sharing stories so why not? I started to learn what it actually took to be the narrator of an audiobook and animated characters in games, shows, and movies. I also came to understand how important voice acting was to businesses in their advertising and training.

Most importantly I learned what the great American poet Dr. Amaya Angelou meant when she said, “Words mean more than what is set down on paper. It takes the human voice to infuse them with deeper Meaning”

I enjoy volunteering at Librivox.org narrating. I also stream on twitch and share a variety of content on my Instagram. I am available to narrate audiobooks, voice commercials, and voice animated characters in video games, tv shows, or movies.
